Chiara Diamantini's book evokes the spirit and the atmosphere of the famous novel "À la recherche du temps perdu" by Marcel Proust. The story's hero Swann is passionately in love with Odette. He and Odette often meet in the pseudo-intellectual salon of Madame Verdurin. Another of her guests is a composer named Vinteuil, whose sonata for piano and violin becomes the theme music of Swann and Odette's romance. Diamantini portrays the sofa where the lovers met, and she endlessly repeats the name Odette on a page, just as Swann had when he was in love. As the story progresses, the violet color of the musical notations fades, and so does Swann's love for Odette.
